Broad Ripple Sketch

By Jonathan Holleb

Daylight fading into dazzling sunset glow scattered orange & purple.

Dim headlights split the seams of dusk into a coming night’s fabric.

Small time hooligans huddle under streetlamp, blowing smoke to the stars.

Window provides view of tavern with poolballs cracking & drunken shouts.

Teenage hipster types eat pizza & gossip, unable to get a drink.

Contemplative woman sits in Starbucks & sips expensive coffee.

Record store junkies scour A to Z for vinyl & CD rarities.

Faint buzz of tattoo gun as feet shuffle past doorway in misted rain.
